MACON, Ga. - Sophomore Bryan Storie came in first to lead the LaGrange men to a third place finish at the Middle Georgia Invitational on Saturday. Alex Whiten led the women, placing 28th out of 80 runners.
"Im so proud of both our men's and women's teams for giving everything they had at this meet," Coach Jasen Jonus. "They finally got their legs back underneath them from practice and running at the Berry Watermelon run last week. They work hard everyday and I'm proud of each and everyone.
"Bryan did an amazing job today pacing and putting himself in a position to win it all on the mens side. Our mens team placed third overall and if not for a course mistake we could have been in the top spot."
Storie covered the 8K course in a time of 29:23.5, 2.5 seconds ahead of Bosco Hakuzimana of Brewton Parker. He averaged 5:54.7 per mile. Following Storie were: Jyheem Rollins (12th, 33:32.3), Darius Wonnum (14th, 36:45.5), Gavin Battle (17th, 37:22.0), Elijah Rachel (30th, 42:48.2), Garrett Callahan (33rd, 43:34.3), and Malcom Roberts (41st, 47:05.4).
