The LaGrange volleyball team honored its 2019 seniors Tuesday night at Mariotti Gym before its USA South match with Huntingdon. Samantha James, Jazzlyn Kenner, and Leigha Reynolds were playing their final home match.
Huntingdon (21-12, 10-2 USA South) took a hard-earned 3-1 win over the Panthers (10-17, 7-5 USA South). LC had its five-match winning streak end, while the Hawks extended their own streak to seven.
How it Happened
Huntingdon never trailed in winning the first set 25-20. The Panthers were on the verge of taking the second set, leading 24-21. But the Hawks rallied to tie the set and took a 2-0 lead with the 28-26 win. LC bounced back to extend the match with a 25-19 third set win. Huntingdon jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the fourth set. The Panthers rallied to tie the set at 12. The Hawks retook the lead and held on to win the set 25-22 and close out the match.
Kenner finished with a team-high 13 kills and a .320 attack percentage.
McKenzie Richards followed Kenner with 11 kills.
Bailey Moss had a match-high 18 digs.
Kirsten Boyd had a match-high 35 assists.
The Panthers close out the regular season against Berea and Maryville as part of a USA South quad match Saturday at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama.
