Volleyball: Kirsten Boyd's double-double leads LC to 3-0 sweep of Mississippi University for Women

SEWANEE, Tenn. - LaGrange closed out play in the Sewanee Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Mississippi University for Women on Saturday. The Panthers (2-9) avenged last week's 3-2 loss to the Owls at the Millsaps Invitational. LC took the match 25-21, 25-14, 25-21. The Panthers lost 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 18-25, 16-25) to Centre earlier in the day after dropping a 3-0 (14-25, 12-25, 18-25) match to tournament host Sewanee on Friday.

Match Notes:

  • The Panthers held Mississippi University for Women to a -.056 attack percentage for the match.
  • LC had a team attack percentage of .338 in the second set against MUW.

Panther Standouts

  • Freshman setter Kirsten Boyd was named to the All-Tournament team. Boyd had a double-double of 27 assists and 11 digs against MUW. She finished the tournament with 67 assists and 26 digs.
  • Kaela Busby had nine kills and a .438 attack percentage against MUW.
  • Jazzlyn Kenner had 26 kills in the tournament. She had 11 kills and a .370 attack percentage in the loss to Centre, and six total blocks against Sewanee.
  • Jharia Harris had 12 digs against Centre.
