LaGrange tuned up for Saturday's opening USA South matches by sweeping past Agnes Scott 3-0 in the Richter Gym on Thursday.
The Panthers (7-4) took just over an hour to dispatch the Scotties (3-4) by scores of 25-6, 25-14, 25-15. In the match, the Panthers had 28 kills and a .380 attack percentage, while serving up 18 aces.
The Panthers never trailed in the first set. They had 12 kills and an attack percentage of .786. Lexi Hall, who led the Panthers with six kills, had three in the first set. Aspen Coggins had three of her five service aces in the set.
Agnes Scott led 3-0 in the early going of the second set. The Panthers answered with a 15-0 run to put the set out of reach. Sarah Gore served five service aces during the run and finished the match with a team-best eight.
The two teams swapped leads in the third set before the Panthers took control with another run. Leading 13-11, the Panthers ran off the next six points to build a 19-11 lead and went on to close out the match.
The Panthers face Maryville and Covenant on Saturday in Lookout Mountain, Ga.
