TRINITY, Fla.- LaGrange College's volleyball team went 1-2 at the Trinity Tournament on Saturday. The Panthers swept Edward Waters 3-0, lost 3-2 to host Trinity and lost 3-0 to Northwood in the final match of the day.
The Panthers swept Edward Waters by scores of 25-14, 25-8 and 25-14. Ashley Corona led the Panthers with team-highs of eight kills and 10 digs. Hayley LaFontaine added seven kills and two block assists.
Trinity edged the Panthers in five sets. The Tigers took the match by scores of 25-23, 17-25, 26-24, 14-25 and 15-6. Katie Covington had a double-double of 21 kills and 15 digs. Covington recorded her 500th career kill in the match. Erin McKinstry also had a double-double of 35 assists and 11 digs. Mary Ann Washichek added nine kills and 16 digs, while Crystal Colvin had a team-high 23 digs.
Northwood swept the Panthers 25-14, 25-13 and 25-14 in the final match of the day. Nicole Wilson had seven kills and an attack percentage of .700 to pace the Panthers. McKinstry led the team with 16 assists and Colvin had a team-best 12 digs.
The Panthers host Emmanuel on Thursday at 7 p.m.
