Women's Tennis: NCAA Division II member Albany State tops Panthers

Visiting Albany State topped LaGrange 5-4 on Friday at the LC Tennis Courts. The Rams are NCAA Division II members. Albany State swept the three doubles matches. The Panthers came back to take four of the six singles matches.

Freshmen Madison Kady and Devon McGlon won their first collegiate dual matches. Kady swept Gracyn Virgil 6-0, 6-2 at #3 singles. McGlon lost a first set tie-breaker before rallying to beat Alani Gauthier 6-7 (7-9), 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) at #6 singles.

Sophomores Callaway Cook and Makayla Red also rallied to win their matches at #4 and #5 singles respectively. Cook defeated Latoya Boyd 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5), while Red beat Jordan Foston 6-7 (3-7), 6-0, 1-0 (10-6).
