ROME, Ga. – After finishing with two goals and two assists during a 2-0 week for the LaGrange College women's soccer team, sophomore midfielder Sydney Dailey earned USA South Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week recognition on Monday for the first time in her outstanding career.

This marks the second weekly conference honor that Dailey has received, as she was named Rookie of the Week on Oct. 1, 2018. The versatile midfielder was also named to the USA South's All-Sportsmanship Team at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

During a 4-0 win against Talladega on Wednesday at Panther Field, Dailey compiled five points for the Panthers (6-3) on two goals and one assist. She scored the game-winning tally in the 24th minute, burying a shot off a free kick from straight on.

The second-year collegiate player assisted on the Panthers' second tally with a through ball in the 16th minute during a 4-0 triumph over Mary Baldwin on Saturday at Panther Field.

Dailey's stellar play has coincided with an outstanding overall start for LaGrange, as the Panthers have won five consecutive games and have outscored their opponents, 16-2, during that stretch with four shutouts.

Dailey leads the USA South in assists (6), while ranking second in points (14) and in a tie for seventh in goals (4). The sophomore standout has tallied at least one point in six of nine games in 2019, as she has already amassed more points this year than her entire rookie season (11).
