Women's Soccer: Panthers blank Mary Baldwin on Senior Day

LaGrange celebrated Senior Day with a 6-0 win over Mary Baldwin at Panther Field on Sunday. The Panthers (9-10, 2-8 USA South) stopped a five-game losing streak and tied the 2003 team for most wins in a season.

Seniors Turner Davis, Caitlin Doerr, Angie Forero  and Mendi Kallam were honored before the game. Also honored was junior Taylor Baldwin, who will graduate early.

Forero opened the scoring in the 13th minute with her first goal of the season off a pass from Caroline Yates. The Panthers broke the game open with three goals in a five-minute span.

Andrea Richard started the scoring spree in the 31st minute with an assist from Kallam. One minute later, Forero fed Brittany Gray to make it 3-0. Richard and Kallam hooked up again in the 36th minute to make it 4-0 at halftime.

Sydney Dorsey closed out the scoring for the Panthers with two second half goals, giving her a team-leading 15 for the year. Jessie Edwards got the assist on Dorsey's second goal.

Courtney Slauson needed to only make two saves to record her second shutout in three starts. The Panthers had a 24-5 shot advantage in the game.

The Panthers close out their season Wednesday at Piedmont in a USA South game.
