Women's Soccer: Panthers roll past Oglethorpe 4-0

LaGrange continued its best start ever with a 4-0 win over Oglethorpe at Panther Field on Thursday. The Panthers improved to 5-1, with all five wins by shutouts.

Sydney Dorsey again led the scoring for the Panthers with two goals. She leads the team and the USA South conference with nine goals this season.

Dorsey opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Mendi Kallam's free kick landed in front of goalkeeper Bailey Evans and bounced off the cross bar. Dorsey came in to clean up with a shot past Evans for a 1-0 lead.

The Panthers upped their lead in the 30th minute. Kellam got her third goal of the season off a free kick to make it 2-0. The Panthers took the lead into halftime.

Dorsey broke the game open less than two minutes into the second half. Kari Sybrandt fed Dorsey with a through ball, who beat the keeper with a low shot to the near post.

Brittany Gray scored her seventh goal of the season with less than two minutes remaining for the 4-0 final. Jade Cotton had her team and conference leading fifth assist on the goal.

Chelsea Totaro made two saves to record her fourth shutout of the season. She lowered her goals against average to 0.40 per game.

The Panthers play at Maryville on Saturday to open USA South play.
