Women's Soccer: Panthers lose 3-0 at Georgia Southwestern

AMERICUS, Ga. - Georgia Southewestern got two goals from Zada Hyatt in downing LaGrange College 3-0 on Sunday. It was the fourth straight loss for the Panthers (1-4).

Georgia Southwestern, a NCAA Division II member, held the Panthers to three shots in the match, all in the first half. The Panthers had two shots on goal in the half.

The Panthers split the goaltending duties in the match. Kristen Bird allowed two first half goals, while Chelsea Totaro gave up a second half goal.

The Hurricanes got their first goal in the seventh minute. Ally Canganelli scored unassisted for a 1-0 lead. Hyatt got her first goal in the 25th minute as the Hurricanes led 2-0 at the half.

The Panthers had scoring chances following both Hurricane goals. Amber Bahri stopped Brittany Gray's shot in the 12th minute and turned away Kari Sybrandt's shot in the 26th minute.

Hyatt padded the Hurricanes' lead to 3-0 just 31 seconds into the second half. She scored off an assist from Carolann Simpson.

The Panthers host Montreat on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
