MARYVILLE, Tenn. - LaGrange's 2018-19 season ended with a 63-53 loss to Maryville on Wednesday in the first round of the USA South Tournament. The Panthers finished the season 13-13.

"A tough way to end our season tonight at Maryville. It was a tale of two halves. I really thought we played one of our better first halves of the year tonight," Coach Lee Buchanan said. "Unfortunately we couldn't get our offense to go in the second half. We played very hard and with tremendous effort but could not get much to go in the basket in the second half. Our defense has been real solid the last six weeks of the year but our offense has been hot and cold. Tonight was another example of that."

The game was the final one for seniors Marilauren Farr and Riley Chlupacek. Farr had 9 points and 4 rebounds. She set a new school career record with 729 rebounds, eclipsing Katie Covington's mark of 725. Farr finished fourth on the career points list with 1,152. Chlupacek had 102 3-pointers, good for eighth on the school career list.

Our seniors will be sorely missed but they have had wonderful careers," said Buchanan. "Riley has been a terrific leader for this years team and led by example every day. Marilauren is a coach's dream as a player. She has been one of the hardest workers in the program since coming to LaGrange. All of her hard work has allowed her to accomplish tremendous things in a Panther uniform."

The Panthers controlled the first half and led 32-22 at halftime. The Scots outscored LC 21-7 in the third quarter to take the lead for good. Jahpera McEachin led the Panthers with 14 points.

"Overall we have had a good season. We added 10 new players to the team in the fall and have five freshmen and six sophomores in the program," Buchanan pointe out. "I know they have all learned a lot and each of them has shown improvement."
