LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant slipped by LaGrange 58-55 in a USA South game Saturday in the regular season final for both teams. The Panthers (13-12, 7-9 USA South) will play at Maryville on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the first round of the USA South Tournament.

Senior Marilauren Farr had a game-high double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds for LC. Jahpera McEachin followed with 15 points and Sadie Desroches added 10. Kaley Hallmark had 17 points for the Scots (10-15, 7-9 USA South).

"A very disappointing loss today against Covenant. It was there senior day and they played inspired basketball," Coach Lee Buchanan said. "We seemed a step slow all day and never could come up with any 50/50 balls. We were very sloppy with the ball and got out-rebounded so those two things make it tough to overcome.

"Marilauren played a great game and recorded another double-double. She shot it well and really hit the boards hard. Jahpera and Sadie shot it well and Mykelli did a nice job on the offensive glass and came up with several steals. Now we have to prepare for the USA South Conference Tournament on Wednesday. We are going to have to prepare and be ready to play."

Th e Panthers led 29-26 at halftime. Covenant took the lead back by the end of the third period and led 43-38 with eight minutes left in the game. The Panthers ran off eight straight points to go up 46-43. McEachin's 3-pointer finished LC's run. But the Scots answered with seven straight points and never gave up the lead.
