BREVARD, N.C. - LaGrange could not overcome a slow start in losing 72-51 to Brevard in a USA South game Saturday. The loss left the Panthers 10-8 on the season and 4-5 in conference play.

"It was a disappointing game for sure tonight. We had a very poor start to the game and it seemed they made everything they shot," said Coach Lee Buchanan. "We played much better in the second half and played them even but we just could not put a big enough run together to close the gap.

"We have to regroup and get ready for the next one. Every game is so important and we are going to have to put a solid 40 minutes together on Wednesday."

Jahpera McEachin led the Panthers with 16 points. Charley Amissah-Reyes added 8 points. Brevard got a game-high 26 points from Annalee Bolinger.

Brevard led 25-5 after the first quarter and built a 35 point lead after three periods. The Panthers outscored the Tornados 20-6 in the final period.
