LaGrange cruised past Agnes Scott 58-36 to pick up its first USA South win of the season. The Panthers (5-4, 1-2 USA South) stopped a three-game losing streak in beating the Scotties (0-6, 0-1 USA South).

"Really happy for our players and getting the win tonight," said Coach Lee Buchanan. "We have worked very hard the last couple of days and it was good to that work turn into a victory. Our defense was much better than it has been recently. I felt like we really set the tone of the game on the defensive end. Offensively, we seemed to click a little better and that was good to see."

Jahpera McEachin led all scorers with 12 points. Marilauren Farr had 9 points and 8 rebounds. The Panthers controlled the boards, holding a 40-33 advantage. LC dominated inside, outscoring the visitors 30-10 in the paint. All 16 players on the roster for the Panthers got in the game.

"Jahpera was really good in her first start as a Panther," Buchanan noted. "She came out energized with her defense and got us going early with her offense. I was pleased everyone got to play and contribute to the win. Our young players have been learning a lot and are getting a little better each day."

The Panthers never trailed in the game, scoring the game's first six points and led 20-8 at halftime. After a low-scoring third period, LC pulled away in the fourth quarter. Kayla Davis' two free throws gave the Panthers their biggest lead, 57-33, with a minute remaining.

After breaking for final exams, the Panthers will play at Berry on Dec. 14.
