MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Maryville handed LaGrange its third straight loss, beating the Panthers 78-55 on Saturday in a USA South game. The Panthers are now 4-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

"A very disappointing way to end a two-game road trip. Maryville was very good tonight and shot the lights out," said Coach Lee Buchanan. "We just didn't have an answer for them tonight. We are better than we are playing right now and have to keep believing in each other. Now we have to watch film, learn from our mistakes and get back in practice and go to work.

"We don't have too many days to prepare before we play our third conference game in six days."

Both teams shot 40 percent in the game. The difference was Maryville was 11-for-29 shooting 3s, while the Panthers were 3-for-11. LC trailed 15-11 after the first quarter. Maryville led 35-26 at halftime and stretched its lead to 61-42 by the end of the third period.

Jahpera McEachin led LC with 14 points off the bench. McEachin was 5-for-6 in the game, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range. Marilauren Farr had 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
