Swimming: Panther teams take on Emory & Henry, William Peace in dual meet

EMORY, Va. - The LaGrange swim teams faced Emory & Henry and William Peace in a dual meet Saturday. The men defeated William Peace 72-63 and lost to host Emory & Henry 94-71. The women were defeated in both of their meets with Emory & Henry and Willliam Peace.

Tim Garnett led the men with first place finishes in the 100-meter butterfly and 100 backstroke. Craig Kennedy and David Edmondson each had two second place finishes. Kennedy was second in the 100 and 200 freestyle events. Edmonson was second to Garrett in the 100 butterfly and second in the 100 breaststroke. Gabriel Griffith placed second in the 800 freestyle. The relay team of Garrett, Kennedy, Edmondson, and Aatiq Bradley won the 200 freestyle relay. Lyllie Menjivar-Couch was third in the women's 200 freestyle and had fourth place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke events.

The teams finish their season at the SCSC Conference meet Feb. 6-9 in Orlando, Florida.
