SWANNANOA, N.C. - The LaGrange College swim teams swept Warren Wilson in a dual meet Sunday. The men won 83-55, while the women posted a 61-57 win.
"We arrived at the meet with snow falling and were missing three of our swimmers," Coach Devin James said. "All of the team really stepped up and did what they needed to do to win despite being outnumbered."
Aatiq Bradley, David Edmondson, Gabriel Griffith, and Craig Kennedy tied for the men's high points, with each winning their two events. Bradley was first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly; Edmondson took the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke; Griffith the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events, and Kennedy the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. For the women' Lyllie Menjivar-Couchand Alex Bromby tied for high points. The pair each had two first place finishes and a second place finish. Menjivar-Couch won the 100 and 200 breastroke, while Bromby took the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.
The teams face Emory & Henry in a dual meet Saturday in Emory, Va.
