SAVANNAH, Ga. - The LaGrange swim teams competed in the three-day SCAD Invitational, hosted by Savannah College of Art & Design.
Edmondson led the Panthers in the 200 freestyle event. He had a time of 1:50.42 in the C Final. Edmonsdon had the second fastest time in the C Final of the 100 backstroke, finishing in 55.51 seconds. He took almost four seconds off his preliminary time.
In the 200 backstroke, Edmonson had the top time of 2:07.66 in the C Final. He improved by more than 13 seconds from his preliminary time.
Tim Garnett was the top LC finisher in the 100 butterfly C Final in a time of 54.81. Montana had a time of 1:01.06 and Oropeza came in at 1:05.81 in the preliminaries of the event. Garnett was the Panthers' top finisher in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:09.91.
Garnett, Montana, and Oropeza had times of 59.71, 1:04.28, and 1:11.13 in the 100 backstroke preliminaries. Oropeza also had a time of 59.01 in the 100 freestyle preliminary.
For the women, Elissa Fuller and Lyllie Menjivar-Couch had times of 30.37 and 30.66 seconds in the 50 freestyle. Fuller had a time of 2:21.58 in the 200 freestyle preliminaries. She came in with a time of 2:44.68 in the C Final of the 200 backstroke. Menjivar-Couch had a time of 3:01.14 in the preliminaries of the 200 backstroke.
Fuller and Menjivar-Couch both competed in the 100 backstroke preliminaries. Fuller had a time of 1:18.18 and Menjivar-Couch finished at 1:22.23. Menjivar-Couch had time of 3:26.43 in the 200 breaststroke preliminaries.
The teams will take a break until Jan. 13 when they travel to Ferrum College for a dual meet.
