The USA South conference announced its softball awards Thursday. LaGrange placed three players on the West Division teams. Junior Emily Barrs was a first team selection. Sophomore outfielder McKenzie Brunel and senior first baseman Taylor Tallant were named to the second team.
Barrs has split her playing time between catcher and designated player. She is second among the team's regulars with a .362 batting average. Barrs is second on the team with two home runs. She leads the team in hits (34), doubles (10), RBIs (21), and walks (15). Brunel had her season cut short due to an injury. She leads the team with a .413 batting average and .491 on-base percentage. In addition, she has a team-high 13 stolen bases. Tallant is batting .301 with a home run and tied for second on the team with 20 RBIs. She is also second on the team with 28 hits. She has committed only one error in 201 chances at first base.
