Men's Soccer: Panthers fall 3-2 in overtime to N.C. Wesleyan

Visiting North Carolina Wesleyan got the winning goal on a penalty kick in the closing seconds of overtime to beat LaGrange 3-2 in a USA South game Sunday. The Panthers are now 5-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

LC led 2-1 at haltime. Jude McEvoy took a pass from Harris Peek and blasted a shot from outside the box over the keeper's head for a 1-0 lead. Aly Cadet, who scored all three Bishop goals, tied the game seven minutes later. The Panthers answered three minutes later. Peek sent in a ball from the far side that Nick Huberty perfectly headed into the net to put LC up 2-1 at halftime.

Cadet tied the game less than three minutes into the second half. It remained tied as goalkeeper Cory Aycock made a pair of saves for the Panthers. But with just 36 seconds left in the first overtime period, the Panthers were whistled for a foul inside the box. Cadet put the game-winner past Aycock on the penalty shot for the 3-2 final margin.
