LaGrange fell 4-1 to visiting Piedmont on Wednesday. It was the first conference game for the Panthers (3-2, 0-1 USA South).
Piedmont broke a scoreless tie with under 10 minutes left in the first half. Lule Tekilmariam got the game's first goal, then Cameron Earls scored with a minute remaining to put the Lions up 2-0.
The Lions broke the game open with a pair of goals in the first four minutes of the second half. Earls got his second goal of the game, followed by Ian Addison's header off a corner kick to make it 4-0. The Panthers avoided the shutout with 23 seconds left. Kaine Baker deflected Michael Deese's shot for the 4-1 final.
The Panthers play at William Peace (N.C.) on Saturday and Warren Wilson (N.C.) on Sunday.
