LaGrange took visiting Ferrum into overtime Sunday in a USA South match. The Panthers got an outstanding performance from senior goalkeeper Donnie Palmer.
Palmer had seven saves, five in the second half to keep the Panthers close. The Panthers sent the game into overtime despite Ferrum having a 22-5 shot advantage.
Trailing 1-0, the Panthers tied the game in the 68th minute. Adrian Vakerics had a shot go off the crossbar and Raymond Haas took the rebound and beat Ferrum goalkeeper Justin Robinson for the tying goal.
Ferrum got the game-winner in the third minute of overtime. Aaron Gustine beat Palmer with a header off a free kick from Asa Fox for the 2-1 final.
The Panthers play at Piedmont on Wednesday in a USA South match.
