LaGrange College will add men's lacrosse to the school's athletic teams, expanding a men's program already including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, football, soccer, swimming and tennis.
"Men's lacrosse will offer another athletic opportunity for our male student-athletes," said Jennifer Claybrook, Athletics Director. "It also will allow more young men to take advantage of the 70-plus academic programs available at LaGrange.
"Our USA South Conference has men's lacrosse as one of its sponsored sports, with eight schools now competing."
Lacrosse is the fastest growing college team sport in the country, according to the NCAA. A record 170 teams played NCAA Division I lacrosse in 2016 – 67 men's and 103 women's.
The inaugural season for the Panthers' Division III men's lacrosse team will be in spring 2020. A national search for the program's first head coach is underway.
