LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant built a large lead and went on to an 81-65 win over LaGrange on Friday night. The loss snapped the Panthers' (4-2, 1-1 USA South) four-game winning streak.

"We didn't play hard. We were over confident and it showed in the first half," said Coach Kendal Wallace. "Covenant plays extremely hard and are well coached. We battled in the second half but couldn't seem to go on a run. We will learn from this and be ready on Wednesday night."

Sophomore Gary Bishop led four Panthers in double figures with 18 points. Senior Jalen McCallum had his second straight double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Julian Cameron and Drew Shepherd each had 10 points.

LC led 6-2 in the early going. Covenant took the lead three minutes into the game and never trailed again. The Scots built a 47-25 halftime lead and led 52-27 with 16:36 remaining in the game. The Panthers chipped away at the Scots' lead over the next nine minutes. Drew Shepherd's 3-pointer made it 63-52 with seven minutes later, but the Panthers could draw no closer.

LC plays at No. 23 Emory next Wednesday. After the Emory game, the Panthers break for final exams. They return to action Dec. 16 with a home USA South game against Brevard.
