MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rose-Hulman topped LaGrange 78-72 at the Rhodes College Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. The game was the season opener for the Panthers (0-1).
Jamison McCray led a balanced scoring attack for the Panthers with 13 points. Lincoln Anderson had a double-double of 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Jalen McCallum added 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots. Gary Bishop also had 11 points.
The game was close throughout. It was tied 10 times and there were 16 lead changes. Anderson's two free throws gave the Panthers their biggest lead, 37-30, with 4:19 left in the first half. Rose-Hulman's biggest lead was 8 points early in the second half.
The Panthers face tournament host Rhodes on Sunday in the consolation game.
