Men's Basketball: Meet the Panthers' 2018-19 newcomers

The 2018-19 newcomers for the LaGrange men's basketball team:

Drew FitschenDrew is a 6-3 sophomore transfer from Pasco-Hernando State College (Fla.) He is a graduate of J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Florida. In high school, Drew averaged 15.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Drew was named the Most Valuable Player of the basketball team as a senior, and won the Mr. Basketball award for his school.  He was also named an All-Star for Broward County. Drew was one of seven students who received a Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Broward County with a 4.8 grade point average. Last year, Drew played for Pasco-Hernando State College in New Port Richey, Florida. He was president of the Men of Excellence and a member of the Synergy Club at Pasco-Hernando.

Curtis BaileyCurtis is a 6-4 freshman guard from Bishop Snyder High School in Jacksonville, Fla. Curtis played on the varsity for three years and was team captain his senior year. As a senior, he averaged 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Curtis was an All-First Coast honorable mention selection and four-year honor roll student. 

Kolby BarbosaKolby is a 6-9 freshman center from Terrell Academy in Dawson, Georgia. Kolby was selected as an All-State and All-Region player in the Georgia Independent School Association. He led his team to the Elite Eight his junior year and the Sweet 16 his senior year.

Henry BlairHenry is a 6-2, 215 pound, combo guard from Long County High School in Ludowici, Georgia. He was a three-year varsity player. As a sophomore, he averaged 15.2 points per game leading his team to a region championship, being named second team 2-AAA All-Region and Offensive Player of the Year. Henry averaged 17.5 points per game as a junior and was first team All-Region,  Player of the Year for Region 2-AAA and first team All-State for Class AAA. He was also voted Georgia Positive Athlete for the state of Georgia. Henry averaged 19.6 points per game during his senior year. He led his team to the Sweet 16 in the Georgia Class AAA state playoffs. Henry was the first player in Long County's history to score over 1,000 career points, finishing with 1,250 points in only three years. He maintained an A, B average all four years in high school.

Alonzo CarterAlonzo is a 6-1 freshman from Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, Florida. He averaged 13.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game as a senior. Alonzo was selected for the Pinellas County All-Star Team in 2018. He led the Boca Ciega to a district championship and regional tournament runner-up as a senior.

Scott CunninghamScott is a 6-1 freshman guard from Bowdon High School in Bowdon, Georgia. He was awarded the Coaches Award as a junior and as a senior. Scott averaged 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists during his senior season. He was named to the All-Area first team and was an All-Region Honorable Mention. He was an honor graduate with a 3.6 grade point average.

Peyton DeanPeyton is a 6-0 freshman guard from Appalachian High School in Oneonta, Alabama. As a senior, he averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. Peyton was on the All-County team, as well as the All-Area team as a sophomore, junior, and senior. He was the MaxPreps Athlete of the Month in January of 2017. Peyton finished with 1,559 career points at Appalachian.

Bershard EdwardsBershard Edwards is a 6-1 freshman guard from Lehigh High School in Lehigh Acres, Florida. The 6-0 guard averaged 19.0 points and 9.0 assists per game as a senior. He is the school's leader in assists with over 150 in a single season. The four-year letterman also graduated with a 3.8 grade point average.

Porter LawPorter is a 6-1 freshman point guard from Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Georgia.  He holds the school's single-season and career assist records.  Porter helped lead his team to state Final Four and Elite Eight berths, along with four straight region titles during his high school career.  He was an All-County selection and played in the NWGA All-Star game. Porter served as student body vice president and had a 3.9 grade point average.

Drew ShepherdDrew is a 5-10 freshman guard from South Paulding (Ga.) High School. As a senior, he averaged 13.0 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Drew was a Region 5-6A honorable mention selection.  He was a member of South Paulding's first Region 5-6A championship team. South Paulding made it to the Georgia Class 6A first round, Sweet 16, and the Elite Eight twice during Drew's four years on the team. He was selected for the Paulding County All-Star game.

Bryan StorieBryan is a 6-2 freshmen guard from Perry (Ga.) High School.  He is also a member of the LaGrange College cross country team.

Dalton WilkesDalton is a 6-3 freshman guard from Citizens Christian Academy in Douglas, Georgia. As a senior, Dalton averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game. He was voted the team's Most Valuable Player and selected to the All-Region and All-State teams. Dalton graduated as an honor graduate with a 4.0 grade point average. He scored 1,530 points in his four-year career at Citizens Christian.

Jordan WestJordan is 6-3 Guard from Dothan, Ala. He averaged 20.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Jordan scored 1,392 career points in three years on the varsity team. He was named a Super 12, All-WAC two times and All-5A Area.
