ATLANTA, Ga. - LaGrange fell to tournament host Emory 82-65 on Saturday at the Emory Classic. The Panthers are now 3-3 overall, while the Eagles improved to 3-0.
The Panthers after falling behind by as much as 21 points, trailed 48-34 at halftime. They made several runs at the Eagles' lead in the second half.
The Panthers scored six of the first seven points of the second half to cut the deficit to nine. Ford's jumper made it 49-40 two minutes into the period.
Trailing 65-50 midway through the half, the Panthers went on a 13-2 run over a three-minute span to get within four points. Ford made five straight from the foul line and Wagner's 3-pointer made it 67-63.
But the Eagles closed out the game with a 15-2 run of their own for the 82-65 final.
The Panthers play Oglethorpe on Sunday in their final tournament game. Oglethorpe downed Maryville 86-75 on Saturday.
