Golf: Panthers slip to fifth after second round of USA South Tournament

LaGrange slipped to fifth after the second round of the USA South Tournament on Friday at Highland Country Club. The Panthers had a team round of 302 and have a 593 total for the tournament.

Sophomore Ben Womack had a 1-under par 71 to pace LC and is tied for seventh with a 143 total. Womack had three birdies in his first four holes to jump start his round. Fellow sophomore Sam Rogers had a 75 and is tied for 15th with a 145 total. Senior Rob Simpson and freshman Mathias Andersen each had rounds of 78, and freshman Thomas Bird had an 84.

The tournament concludes Saturday. The Panthers begin teeing off at 9 a.m.
