FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Sophomore Sam Rogers shot the low round of the day as the LaGrange golf team finished seventh at the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational.
The Panthers shot an even par 288 for a 591 total. It was the third best team round of the day. Babson and Greensboro tied for first in the team standings.
Rogers got his revenge on the Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club course. After shooting an 80 in the first round, the sophomore came back with a 5-under par 67 in the final round. The round was Rogers' lowest as a collegian. He moved up 54 spots in the individual standings to tie for 19th. Rogers had seven birdies on the day, with a double bogey the only blemish on his scorecard.
Freshman Mathias Andersen tied with Rogers in the individual standings with a final round 1-over par 73. Nathan Garner also carded a 73 and had a 150 total for the tournament. Cameron Starr had a 75 to tie for 26th with a 148 total. Ben Womack matched Starr with a 75 for a 154 total.
The Panthers will play in the Golfweek Fall Invitational on Oct. 14-16 at The Raven Course in Miramar, Florida.
