Golf: Panthers tied for ninth after first round of Royal Lakes Fall Invitational

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - The LaGrange golf team is tied for ninth after the first round of the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational being played at the Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club. 

The Panthers had a team score of 303 to tie with McDaniel. Babson leads with a 291 total, followed by Birmingham-Southern and Maryville.

Sophomore Cameron Starr had a 1-over par 73 to lead LC. Starr had a stretch of three birdies in four holes on his final nine holes after playing the first nine at 4-over par. Freshman Mathias Andersen was one shot back of Starr with a 74 and was followed by Nathan Gardner (77), Ben Womack (79), and Sam Rogers (80).

The tournament concludes Tuesday.
