Phillip Manning is in his first year working with the offensive line. He was a four-year letterman for the Panthers, playing under Matt Mumme. Manning graduated with a degree in history from LC.
Manning was on the coaching staff at local Troup County High School for two years. In those two years, Troup reached the second round of the state playoffs and last year the semifinals before losing to the eventual state champion. Manning coached three All-Region selections at Troup. He was part of a state-leading offense in 2018 which produced 6,668 yards of total offense in 2018. In 2017, Troup had over 5,300 yards of offense, led by quarterback Montez Crowe, who threw for over 4,000 yards.
Manning was a four-year letterman for Bleckley County in Cochran, Georgia. He is the son of Wayne and Kathy Manning.
