Freshman running back Terron Dixon was named the USA South Offensive Player of the Week and Offensive Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20. Dixon is the second LC football player to receive two weekly honors at once. T.J. Bulloch was the Defensive Player of the Week and Defensive Rookie of the Week in 2014.
Dixon set several school records and tied another in LC's 40-23 win over Greensboro. He rushed for a school record 284 yards, just one shy of tying the USA South game record. Dixon also averaged a record 16.7 yards per carry and tied the record for touchdowns with four. He had touchdown runs of 29, 35, 10, and 63 yards. In the second quarter alone, with LC trailing by 11 points, Dixon ran for 186 yards on just six carries with two touchdowns to put the Panthers up by nine points entering halftime. For the season, he has rushed for 370 yards in four games, averaging 18.5 yards per carry and has five touchdowns.
