LaGrange had two seniors earn USA South weekly honors as announced by the conference Monday. Senior Brendon Scott was the Offensive Player of the Week and fellow senior Peyton Haynes was the Defensive Player of the week for the week ending Sept. 29.
Scott ran for a career-high 150 yards and two touchdowns in LC's 50-13 win at Apprentice on Saturday. He averaged 7.9 yards per carry on 19 attempts. It was his second 100-yard game of the season, and fifth of his career. The two touchdown runs put him second on the school's career list with 13. Scott leads the USA South with 6 touchdowns and is third with 99.0 rushing yards per game.
Haynes set a pair of school records in the Apprentice game. He had a record three interceptions and recovered a fumble. Haynes now has five interceptions on the season, breaking the school single season mark of four set by T.J. Bullock and Brandon Penn. He is tied with Penn for most career interceptions with seven.
