Football: N.C. Wesleyan runs past Panthers 35-14

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan ran past LaGrange 35-14 on Saturday in the first USA South game for both teams. The Panthers dropped to 1-3 overall.

N.C. Wesleyan (2-1, 1-0 USA South) had 519 yards of total offense. The Bishops built a 35-0 lead after three quarters.

Freshman quarterback Cam Perkins accounted for both of LC's touchdowns in the fourth quarter. He ran in the Panthers' first score from 12 yards out to finish a 5-play 70-yard drive. Perkins completed an 80-yard drive with a 5-yard pass to Austin Sapp for the 35-14 final margin. He rushed six times for 61 yards and was 7-of-10 passing for another 95 yards. 

The Panthers host Averett in a USA South game next Saturday at 1 p.m.
