Football: Game 2 Preview- LC vs Berry in Callaway Stadium on Saturday

What to watch for....
The Panthers host the Vikings in a battle between the two NCAA Division III football-playing schools in Georgia. Both teams won their 2016 season openers. The Panthers downed Birmingham-Southern 47-27, while the Vikings edged Maryville 34-33.

Junior quarterback Connor Blair had 384 yards in the air and threw for a career-high four touchdowns. Senior Lavell Meeks had four catches for 136 yards and touchdowns of 50 and 24 yards. Sophomore Kiontai Button returned a kickoff for 94 yards for the final score of the game. Button was named the USA South Special Teams Player of the Week.

Berry, coached by former LaGrange defensive coordinator Tony Kunczewski, forced seven turnovers in its first ever win over Maryville. Sophomore quarterback Tate Adcock threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Senior defensive back Jordan Arnett had eight tackles, forced a fumble, and had an interception. Junior defensive lineman Mamadou Soumahoro had five tackles, including a quarterback sack, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.

Series Notes...
The first two meetings were decided in overtime. The Panthers winning 28-27 in double overtime at Callaway Stadium in 2014 and the Vikings returning the favor in 2015, winning 16-13. The Vikings made a goal line stand in the waning seconds of regulation to force the overtime. Mitchell Blanchard ended the game with his third field goal.
