Tenth-ranked Huntingdon rallied for a 5-4 win over LaGrange on Friday in a USA South game. The loss left the Panthers 10-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
LC hit four solo home runs in the first four innings to take a 4-1 lead. Jack Layrisson had two of the home runs. Trey Pearce and E.J. Churchich also homered. The Panthers entered the game with two home runs on the season. Huntingdon (14-0, 6-0 USA South) came back with two runs in their half of the fourth and another in the fifth to tie the game. The Hawks, aided by the Panthers' sixth error of the game, pushed across the go-ahead run in the eighth inning. J.R. Robinson (2-1) went the distance in taking the loss for the Panthers. He scattered seven hits, only three of the runs he allowed were earned. Tucker Duke (3-0) got the win, not allowing a hit in five innings of relief.
The teams will conclude their three-game series with a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.
