Freshman designated hitter McKinley Erves was selected as the USA South Baseball Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 24. This is the second time Erves has received the weekly honor.
Erves helped lead the Panthers to a 3-1 record last week, including a three-game sweep of USA South opponent Berea. He went a combined 7-for-13 (.538) with a .667 on-base percentage, and a .692 slugging percentage. Erves scored six runs, had three RBIs, two doubles, four walks and two stolen bases. In the loss to Berry, Erves was 1-for-2 with one walk. In the Berea series, Erves was 6-for-11 with six runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles, three walks and two stolen bases. For the season, he is batting .300 with 18 RBIs and leads the team with six doubles.
