LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant scored the final six runs in beating LaGrange 10-4 on Saturday. The win allowed the Scots (4-6, 2-1 USA South) to take two of three fr0m the Panthers (7-8, 1-2 USA South) in their USA South series.
James Poropatic hit his second home run of the season and drove in three runs for the Panthers. McKinley Erves had an RBI double included in his two hits. Covenant hit three home runs and banged out 16 hits against three LC pitchers. Colin Barrett (3-2) started and took the loss, allowing five runs in six innings.
The Panthers trailed 4-1 entering the sixth inning. Poropatic's three-run home run tied the game 4-4. The Scots came back with a run in the bottom of the inning, then scored four runs off reliever Anthony Elias to break the game open.
The Panthers host Oglethorpe on Tuesday in a non-conference game beginning at 7 p.m.
