LaGrange swept the USA South baseball Rookie of the Week awards for the week ending Feb. 17. Freshman Liam Carbone was the Rookie of the Week, while fellow freshman Michael Menheart was the Rookie Pitcher of the Week.
Carbone went a combined 7-for-10 (.700) with a .727 on-base percentage and a .700 slugging percentage to go along with three runs scored in helping the Panthers sweep a three-game series from Virginia Wesleyan during week. In the final game of the series, Carbone was a perfect 4-for-4 with a run scored, two RBIs, a walk and a stolen base.
Menheart picked up his first collegiate win in relief by throwing 4-2/3 scoreless innings as the Panthers completed a three-game sweep of Virginia Wesleyan with an 8-5 win. It was the first appearance for Menheart this season. He allowed just one hit, struck out six and walked one.
