LaGrange women's basketball celebrated Senior Day with a 71-59 USA South win over Maryville in Mariotti Gym on Feb. 3. The Panthers (12-11, 6-8 USA South) stopped a 12-game losing streak to the Scots (11-12, 9-5 USA South) dating back to the 2014 season. It was only the third win for LC in 47 meetings with Maryville.

Seniors Riley Chlupacek and Marilauren Farr played their final home games and were honored after the game. Chlupacek had 18 points, making 6-of-7 from 3-point range. Farr finished with 15 points.

Chlupacek opened the game with two 3-pointers on LC's first three possessions, igniting a 13-0 start for the Panthers. Jahpera McEachin, who led LC with 19 points, added a trey of her own, then Farr finished the run with a basket inside. Chlupacek added two more from 3-point range later as the Panthers led 25-18 at the end of the period.

LC put together another run in the second quarter. Leading 25-21, the Panthers outscored the Scots 16-2 to go up 41-23. Chlupacek and McEachin finished the first half making 9-of-11 of their 3-point attempts.

Maryville outscored the Panthers 19-11 in the third period to trail 52-45 heading to the fourth. Farr had nine of her points in the final period. Twice the Scots crept within four points, and Farr answered for the Panthers both times, making a pair of free throws and a put back of her own missed shot. McEachin put the game out of reach in the final two minutes. With the Panthers leading 65-59, she drained a 3-pointer and completed a three-point play after making a steal at the defensive end for the 71-59 final.
