2018-19 in Review: Volleyball's Jazzlyn Kenner named USA South Player of the Week for two straight weeks

Junior middle blocker Jazzlyn Kenner was the USA South Volleyball Player of the Week for the weeks ending Sept. 30 and Oct. 7, 2018. Kenner became the first LC volleyball player to earn the honor in back-to-back weeks.

 

Kenner averaged 3.77 kills, with a .337 hitting percentage, and 1.54 blocks per set as the Panthers posted a 2-1 record versus USA South opponents during the week of Oct. 7. In a 3-2 loss to Huntingdon, Kenner posted 17 kills, nine blocks, one dig and one service ace. In a 3-1 victory over Berea, she notched 18 kills, six blocks and four digs. Finally, in a 3-1 win over Agnes Scott, Kenner totaled 14 kills, six digs, five blocks and one assist. For the season, Kenner has a team-leading 136 kills and 62 total blocks.

For the week ending Sept. 30, Kenner averaged 4.71 kills per set, with a .464 hitting percentage, and 1.71 blocks per set in the two matches. In a 3-1 win over Brevard, Kenner posted a career-high 20 kills, nine blocks and two digs. In a 3-0 victory over Maryville, Kenner notched 13 kills, three blocks, three digs and two service aces. She leads the team with 87 kills and 42 total blocks. Kenner leads the USA South with 1.08 blocks per set.
