Freshman midfielder Blake Webb is the LaGrange College Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 6. In addition, Webb was selected as the USA South Rookie of the Week for the same time period.
Webb registered his first career two-goal game for the Panthers (4-6-1, 3-3-1 USA South) during a 2-1 overtime win at Piedmont. LaGrange defeated the Lions on the road for the first time in program history. He netted his first collegiate game-winner 7:08 into the first-overtime session, as he sent a rocket into the top-right corner from 25 yards out.
Webb had the Panthers' goal in a 3-1 loss at Maryville on Saturday. Webb scored on a rebound off his own missed shot.
Webb leads the Panthers in goals (5), assists (4) and points (14), as he has tallied at least one point in six of 11 games. He ranks in the top-11 overall in all three categories in the USA South.
