The LaGrange cross country teams competed in the North Georgia Invitational on Saturday. Each Panther runner bettered their time from last week's North Georgia Tech meet.
Sophomores Chase McCulley and Lauren Brandner led the Panthers. McCulley was 16th overall for the men with a time of 32:24 over the 8K course. Brandner was 23rd overall with a time of 23:12 over the women's 5K course.
Brett Piland (32:41) followed McCulley. Matt Merritt improved his time by over four minutes from last week finishing in 35:33. John Lynch (35:36) and Will Scruggs (42:02) rounded out the men's times for the Panthers.
Jessica Morton had a time of 24:21 behind Brandner. Meab Carlin had the biggest improvement for the women with a time of 27:04, over four minutes faster than last week. Ali Bolnick (27:06), Evan Brasselle (27:09), Megan Tipsword (27:29) and Sara Morton (30:22) rounded out the women's times for the Panthers.
The Panther team run in the Mercer Runfit on Sept. 28.
