Volleyball: Meredith ends Panthers' USA South tournament run in semifinals

DANVILLE, Va. - LaGrange's run in the USA South Tournament came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Mereith in the semifinals Friday at Averett University's Grant Center.

The Panthers finished the season 22-14. It was the first winning season since 2011 and the most wins in a season since the 2005 team went 26-13.

The match was the final one for seniors Sterling Ancrum, Nachelle Roberts, and Kristi Sammons. Ancrum had six digs and a service ace. Roberts put down four kills and had a block assist. Sammons had two service aces and digs each.

Maggie Ivester led the Panthers with seven kills and 13 digs. Jazzlyn Kenner added six kills, while Emily Arnold and Samantha James each had five. Lauren Sanders had 17 assists, while Libby Compton had 10.
