Volleyball: Panthers split matches with Agnes Scott and Rust on Friday

DECATUR- LaGrange split a pair of matches at Agnes Scott's Woodruff Gymnasium on Friday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the host Scotties, then swept Rust by the same 3-0 score.

The split left the Panthers 19-11 on the season. They close out their home schedule next Wednesday against Huntingdon in a USA South match.

The Panthers had defeated Agnes Scott on Wednesday, but the Scotties (11-13) took Friday's match 25-23, 25-16, 25-19. Freshman Samantha James had a team-high 13 kills. Lauren Sanders finished with 25 assists, while Sterling Ancrum had 16 digs.

The Panthers had little trouble in sweeping Rust by scores of 25-1, 25-11, 25-6. Freshman Jazzlyn Kenner had a match-high 13 kills without an attack error, finishing with a .755 attack percentage. The Panthers had 14 service aces in the match, with Sanders and Maggie Ivester each having four.

After the Huntingdon match, the Panthers close out the regular season with a tri-match against Berea and Maryville next Saturday in Maryville, Tenn.
