Volleyball: Panthers split matches at USA South Quad Match on Sunday

LaGrange split its matches at the USA South Quad Match on Sunday at Greensboro College. The Panthers (13-9, 3-5 USA South) edged Methodist 3-2 before losing 3-1 to host Greensboro.

The Panthers beat Methodist 17-25, 26-24, 25-23, 17-25, 15-9. Maggie Ivester had a season and career-high 21 kills to go with 12 digs. Ivester was one of four Panthers with double-doubles. Lexi Hall had 16 kills and 17 digs, Lauren Sanders 31 assists and 12 digs, and Libby Compton 24 assists and 10 digs.

Greensboro downed the Panthers 26-24, 26-28, 25-17, 25-16. Samantha James led the team with 14 kills, while Hall and Ivester each had 12. Ivester added 14 digs.

The Panthers lost by 3-0 scores Saturday to William Peace and Averett. William Peace topped the Panthers 25-16, 25-18, 25-19, while Averett took the match by identical scores of 25-16 in all three sets. Ivester had a double-double of 11 kills and 16 assists in the William Peace match.

The Panthers host Wesleyan in a USA South match Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Richter Gym.
