Volleyball: Panthers go on the road for USA South Quad match against Ferrum, Averett

DANVILLE, Va. - LaGrange took on USA South foes Ferrum and Averett as part of a conference quad match Saturday.

Ferrum edged the Panthers 3-2 in the first match of the day and Averett took a 3-0 win in the final match.

In the first match, the Panthers took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-14. Ferrum tied the match with wins in the third and fourth sets, then took a hard fought fifth set by a score of 15-11.

Maggie Ivester had a career-high 18 kills for the Panthers to go with 20 digs. She was one of four Panthers with 20 or more digs. Aspen Coggins had a team-high 27, while Lexi Hall had 21 and nine kills. Lauren Sanders had 20 and added 29 assists. Danyelle Carr followed Ivester with 11 kills.

The host Cougars downed the Panthers 25-17, 25-19, and 25-21. Mimi Loftus had a team-best eight kills and a .700 attack percentage.

The Panthers play at NCAA Division II member Stillman on Tuesday and host Huntingdon in a USA South match Thursday.
