Volleyball: Panthers take two-time defending USA South champs Maryville to five sets

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - LaGrange took two-time defending USA South champ Maryville to five sets Saturday during a conference quad-match at Covenant College.

The Panthers (7-6, 0-2 USA South) lost the first set to the Scots 25-15. They came back to take the next two sets 25-18 and 25-15 to go up 2-1 in the match. Maryville tied the match with a 25-23 fourth set win and took the deciding match 15-7.

Maggie Ivester and Emily Arnold each had eight kills for the Panthers. Ivester and Lexi Hall each had 15 digs to lead the team. Lauren Sanders had a double-double of 10 digs and 16 assists.

The Panthers finished the day with a 3-0 loss to Covenant. Arnold led the Panthers with six kills. 

The Panthers host Talladega in a non-conference match in the Richter Gym on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
