Volleyball: Panthers split matches against Fisk and Wesleyan

SEWANEE, Tenn. - LaGrange split two matches Friday at the Juhan Gymnasium on the campus of the University of the South.

Fisk topped the Panthers 3-0 in the first match of the day. The match was evenly played as the Bulldogs took the match by scores of 24-19, 26-24, 25-21.

Sophomore Emily Arnold had a team-high eight kills. Maggie Ivester had a match-high 15 digs and Aspen Coggins added 14. Lauren Sanders had 11 assists, while Nachelle Roberts had a solo block and six block assists.

The Panthers (5-2) bounced back in the final match of the day to sweep Wesleyan for the third time this season. The Panthers cruised by scores of 25-9, 25-8, 25-7.

The Panthers had a .500 attack percentage in the match. Bonny Woods had a match-high six kills, followed by Roberts with five. Sarah Gore had a match-high 10 assists and Coggins also led the match with six digs.

The Panthers will face Huntingdon and the University of the South (Sewanee) on Saturday.
