Volleyball: Panthers sweep by Wesleyan in non-conference match

After 16 matches on the road, the LaGrange volleyball opened its home schedule with a 3-0 sweep of Wesleyan in a non-conference match Wednesday in the Richter Gymnasium.

The Panthers (8-9) won for the eighth time in their last 10 matches. They will face Maryville and Covenant in USA South matches Saturday in Lookout Mountain, Ga.

The Panthers got a match-high nine kills from freshman Danyelle Carr, who finished with a .421 attack percentage. Mary Katherine Schmitz had 23 assists, while Bama Meyers had nine digs and Maggie Iverson eight.
